Thank you. Your submission has been recorded.
The editorial office has received your files and declarations. Nothing further is required from you at this stage. This page covers all three tracks: peer-reviewed manuscripts, preprints, and student submissions.

If You Submitted a Manuscript for Peer Review

  1. Acknowledgement, within 3 business days. You will receive an email confirming receipt and quoting your submission reference number. Quote that number in any correspondence about this manuscript.
  2. Editorial screen, within 5 business days. An editor checks scope, formatting, anonymisation, and similarity screening, then confirms whether the manuscript has passed desk review.
  3. Double-blind peer review. Manuscripts that pass the desk review go to at least two independent reviewers. See the Peer Review Policy for the full timeline.

If You Posted a Preprint

  1. Moderation screen, usually under one working day. A moderator checks scope, scholarly form, originality, rights and disclosure against the published criteria. This is not peer review.
  2. Announcement, 09:00 AST on the second working day. Accepted preprints receive a permanent identifier in the form AIC-P.YYMM.NNNNN, a registered DOI, and a place in that week's Thursday listing.
  3. Decisions arrive by email. A rejection names the criterion that failed. You may appeal once, in writing, to the Editor-in-Chief.

Queries about a preprint go to preprints@caribbeanaijournal.org.

If You Are a Student Author

  1. We write to your mentor first. Before anything else happens, we contact the mentor address you gave to confirm the countersignature, and consent where you are under 18. Tell them to expect it.
  2. Acknowledgement within 3 business days, to you and to your mentor.
  3. Editorial check within 10 days. If something is missing, we ask you for it rather than rejecting you for it.
  4. Review, then written feedback. Two working researchers and a student reader review the paper. You receive their comments in full whatever the decision. Most accepted papers are revised twice, and that is normal.

Questions go to students@caribbeanaijournal.org, and they are answered by a person.

If You Do Not Hear From Us

If no acknowledgement arrives within three business days, check your spam folder first, then email submissions@caribbeanaijournal.org with your manuscript title. Do not resubmit through the form, because duplicate submissions slow the desk review down.

Corrections and Withdrawals

To correct a file, add a co-author, or withdraw the submission, email submissions@caribbeanaijournal.org rather than submitting again. Requests received before the manuscript enters review are actioned without prejudice.
